Nestling
on the edge of Friendship Bay on the southern side of the Island of Bequia, Lars
and Magrit Abrahamsson have over the past 8 years developed this hotel to the
current warm laid back atmosphere is has now. From high-powered business
backgrounds in Sweden, Lars and Magrit offer their guests the chance to leave
the 'rush and tare' of the city for the a casual, relaxing, 'barefoot'
experience of the Caribbean islands. Great emphasis is placed on cuisine. Magrit
has a background in restaurants and is an experienced chef, therefore setting a
high standard. Lunch at the beach bar cannot be missed.
The
hotel is 10 minutes from Bequia airport and 12 minutes by taxi from Port
Elizabeth, where the ferry from St.Vincent docks twice daily.
The
decor of the very comfortable rooms reflects the colourful African/ Carib Indian
influence of the ancient peoples that inhabited these islands. Positioned on a
hill overlooking the bay the main restaurant and every room has a sea view.
There are a few refreshment spots, but my favorite is still the beach bar. It is
on a lovely long white beach with tall palms trees.
